JMcC Office, Joel McCullough Carbon Copy, pursues Architecture as a soft transcription and local reinterpretation of the strangeness and delight in the everyday. The practice embraces a breadth of projects from design research and objects to buildings and gathering spaces.


Joel McCullough is the founder of JMcC Office.  He is a registered architect in New York and Pennsylvania with nine years of experience.  Joel recently practiced as a Project Architect with MOS in NYC, leading local and international projects from furniture and exhibitions to houses and art spaces. He holds a Bachelors of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, with university and college honors, and a Master’s of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.  While at GSAPP, he was awarded with the Smyser Lowenfish Memorial Award for design excellence and William Kinne Travelling Award. He has held teaching positions at Columbia University GSAPP and NJIT. Joel has lectured at Columbia GSAPP and with New York Review for Architecture + Citygroup. His work has been exhibited at the 2022 Tallinn Architecture Biennale and Citygroup in NYC.
